Posted - Jul 12 2005 : 01:50:22 I know there is not a PPC version of Dietpower yet and that everyone wants one. However, in the mean time I've been trying to optimize the synching between home and work computers (both of which I keep synchronized with my PDA). Right now, I export my travelbag file to a folder that gets synched with my PDA on both machines, so I never have to create a disk or e-mail the file. This helps quite a bit.
However, I was thinking it would be even better to have my primary dietpower records saved directly to a folder that synchs with my PDA then I wouldn't have to explicitly export and import the files and create lots of additional dated zip files. Does anyone know how to change the folder where Dietpower records are automatically saved to or alternatively how to set up the Pocket PC synch to selectively synch the records from the Dietpower folder?

Posted - Sep 27 2009 : 09:25:27 How about a web based data store similar to the way Google Calendar works? Small background applications sync seamlessly with Google Calendar. Users can make changes in either place with the results showing up in the other. If such a site were WAP enabled "smart" device with internet access could serve as the interface when a PC was not available.
There there is the old fashioned way, with a notepad. Since scales are variable, I only record weight from one specific scale. From that point of view, one would need only the PC nearest the scale. Still, I'd be willing to pay a modest subscription fee to have this service online. |

So there will not be a PPC version? I'd love to see that and if it didn't crash, would purchase it at least for a trial. I'm on the go more than I have time to be on a computer, which is why it is a good idea to me.
Sorry, but as a matter of policy we don't publicly speculate about current or future development until a formal announcement is published.

Favorites transfer along with your other records within the Travel Bag zipped file. There should be no problem transferring favorites so long as the laptop meets the DietPower 4.4 minimum resolution requirement (1024 x 768).

Hi Sandy ...,
Provided the laptop meets the minimum requirements for installing & running DietPower, you can transfer all of your data to the laptop, including favorites. Simply install DietPower, create the same user (exact same first name & birth date), design & adopt a reasonable diet, ... then from within each respective user use the Travel Bag function (toolbar button with the "suitcase" icon) to export, then import your records.

With both copies of the program shutdown, sync the contents of (including all included subfolders):
Windows XP (or before): C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\DietPower4.4 Windows Vista: C:\ProgramData\DietPower4.4
(note that these are hidden folders by default, you may need to set Explorer's options to "Show hidden files and folders" and show system files in order to see them)

Thanks. That will do for now. |

Can I now select the folder where data files are stored? This would be very, very helpful in allowing me to sync data files (with a program like Dropbox) between my home and office machines.
